Local artist Nicole Grayson transforms birthdays, festivals and community events into memorable experiences for children and families
For more than 14 years, Western Pennsylvania artist and business owner Nicole Grayson has been adding color, creativity and a little extra magic to celebrations throughout the region. Her business, Busy Bee’s Arty Party LLC, provides professional children’s entertainment for birthdays, festivals, schools, libraries, company picnics and community events.
What began with face painting has grown into a full-service creative entertainment business offering face painting, balloon twisting, henna, foam parties, slime parties, sand art, glitter tattoos, balloon décor and other hands-on activities.
“I love creating those moments when a child looks in the mirror and sees themselves transformed into exactly what they imagined,” said Grayson. “Whether it’s a painted tiger, an enormous balloon creation, a mountain of foam or a slime party, I want children to leave feeling happy, confident and excited.”
Grayson has worked at events across Washington, Fayette, Greene and Westmoreland counties, Pittsburgh and surrounding areas, as well as parts of West Virginia. Busy Bee’s Arty Party has entertained families at community celebrations and events connected with organizations such as P3R, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Wheeling Nailers, the American Heart Association and numerous local businesses and municipalities.
Grayson’s work has earned industry recognition, including Artist of the Year and a Skin Markz design award. Her artwork has also been featured in Q Magazine, and she has taught and supported other artists within the face-painting community.
Busy Bee’s Arty Party is a woman-owned, fully insured local business. Grayson also maintains Pennsylvania child-abuse and criminal background clearances, giving parents and event organizers additional peace of mind when booking entertainment for children.
One of the things that sets Busy Bee’s apart is the variety of experiences available. Families can book a single service for a birthday party or combine activities to create a larger celebration. The business also offers entertainment for high-volume public events, with designs and service options created to keep lines moving while still giving every child a special experience.
Grayson hopes to continue expanding Busy Bee’s Arty Party, adding new activities and equipment while building partnerships with local schools, municipalities, nonprofits and family-focused businesses.
“This area has supported my work for many years,” Grayson said. “I want Busy Bee’s to continue being a business that brings families together, gives children something exciting to remember and helps make local events even more special.”
